Contemporary Christian singer, songwriter and speaker
Ellen Soukup passed up a chance to begin a professional recording career
shortly after her high school graduation so that she could go to college. Then
came marriage, an office job and family. But through it all she never stopped
singing, whether in ensemble groups, a band or in church. It’s in church
however, where she’s found the fame that came looking for her two decades ago.
In 2000, she was
inspired to write her first song called “Thy Will Be Done,” which has become
the foundation of a music ministry that has touched many lives across the
nation. She’s recorded three CD’s since then; the latest recording called “The
Truth is There” which is being distributed nation-wide by Faithworks of Brentwood, Tennessee.
Ellen credits the
Holy Spirit for guiding her music ministry as she speaks with audiences about
her faith journey and its influence on her music. Her performances are focused
on telling people, especially youth, that God’s truth is out there, it’s just
up to us to find it.
In her mission to spread the Word of God through music
inspired by the Holy Spirit, Ellen has touched the lives of thousands through
her message of hope, praise and love for our Lord. Among her presentation topics
are returning our families to Christ, chastity and morality, overcoming pain
and suffering and finding God in your vocation.
Residing in Lincoln, Nebraska, Ellen has been married
18 years to her husband John and has two children: daughter Carolyn, who is 11
and son Paul who is 10. You can find her most Sunday's in church where
she is music coordinator and choir director.
